Zhik announce sponsorship of 2015 29er World Championships

Zhik will sponsor the 2015 29er Worlds Zhik http://www.zhik.com
Zhik are the new headline sponsor of the 29er World Championships 8-14 August 2915, as well as the UK Nationals and EuroCup taking place from 1 - 6 August at Plas Heli Welsh National Sailing Academy, Pwllheli in North Wales, UK.

This is Zhik’s first sponsorship of the 29er Worlds sponsorship, which this year has over 160 confirmed entries across 23 nations. The sponsorship continues Zhik’s on-going association with the class, which includes being title sponsor of the UK 29er Nationals since 2009 as well as long standing support of the Australian fleet.

VP Europe, International 29er Class Association, Ben Cooper said, “The 29er class really appreciate Zhik’s massive contribution to the Worlds which is a showcase of our talented youth sailors, and also for their on-going support of the UK 29er Class Association.”


Simon Payne, Sales Director for Zhik commented, “We are delighted to extend our long term association with the 29er class as the new Worlds sponsor, and to support the development of young talent.

The 29er Worlds has a track record of producing outstanding sailors such as Olympic medallists Nathan Outteridge and Blair Tuke, as well as Alain Sign, Dylan Fletcher, John Pink, John Gimson, and James Peters all who progressed rapidly to join the British Sailing Team. With this huge international entry list, we are looking forwards to following some exciting racing in August!”

Zhik are providing an extensive support package, and will be running a social media photo competition during the Worlds for competitors to win additional Zhik goodies. Firmhelm Chandlery will be providing retail support on site during the event.

The Zhik 29er World Championship is also being supported by the Welsh Assembly, Gwynedd Council, the RYA and Ovington Boats.
