A new initiative designed to raise more than £2 million for AIDS-related charities has been launched by Will Hardy of Positive Buoyancy Ltd in the UK.

The concept, labelled the 128:1 project, is a competition whereby the winner gets to walk away with a brand new Ferretti 76 yacht and a two-year all-inclusive management package valued at around £3.4 million. Entry costs £5,000 and is limited to just 1,280 tickets.

All proceeds will go towards UNICEF's Unite for Children Against AIDS campaign and other associated charities. '128:1 is an innovative way to highlight the issues surrounding children and HIV/AIDS across the world, says David Bull, executive director of UNICEF UK. 'With such a spectacular prize on offer and by attracting substantial funds for UNICEF's essential and high-profile campaign, 128:1 is sure to create a real buzz.'

Contestants must visit the Positive Buoyancy website at http://www.positivebuoyancy.org to compete in a skills-based competition.

The most accurate 128 entries will then be entered into Phase 2 of the draw, which consists of an all-expenses-paid weekend in Monte Carlo to take part in a series of elimination events that will determine the final winner.

None of the 128 finalists will go home empty handed. As the rounds progress, the eliminated finalists will receive luxury prizes of cumulative value. However, only one of the finalists will walk away with the luxury super yacht – a Ferretti 761.

Positive Buoyancy held a glittering launch party for 128:1 at Coutts & Co on 9 January. The event was attended by Martin Bell, Colin Jackson and over 200 supporters.

The 128:1 Project Prize:

The 761 follows in the Ferretti tradition of combining quality and style with comfort. Measured at over 76 feet, the 761 is a large yacht capable of speeds of 33 knots. One of the yacht's most attractive features is the owner's luxurious cabin, stretching across the full beam of the yacht and offering tremendous views of the sea through its two large panoramic windows. If you dream of exploring the sea in the comfort and space of a stylish yacht, then the Ferretti 761 is the boat for you.

The lucky winner will also receive 2 years of operating costs as well that includes: a full crew, a Mediterranean berth, insurance and a fuel allowance. See the website for full details and rules.

Positive Buoyancy is a not for profit company with the aim of raising money for children affected by HIV/AIDS. Our current initiative is 128:1, culminating in donations of more than £2 million to charities.
