The Weymouth and Portland International Regatta day ten has presented yet another day of hammering winds on Weymouth Bay which disrupted plans for racing.
One of the few classes to make it off the docks was the Star class, which completed two races. Mark Mendelblatt and Brian Fatih scored a tenth and fifth to hold the overall eighth position. Two additional races are scheduled on Friday for the Star and Finn classes before the top ten advance to the respective class medal races on Saturday.
Women’s 470 duo Erin Maxwell and Isabelle Kinsolving Farrar along with Laser Radial sailor Paige Railey had a rest day today and will be back racing in their medal races on Friday. This evening the first prizegiving took place and Sally Barkow, Alana O'Reilly and Elizabeth Kratzig Burnham received a bronze medal in Women's Match Racing. Saturday is the concluding day of the 2011 Weymouth and Portland International Regatta.
Before the London 2012 Test Event began, Chris Vadala of the U.S. Olympic Committee updated us on the big picture for the Games.
If you missed what Paige Railey had to say after winning two races on Wednesday, she might surprise you.
