Volvo Ocean Race – Barcos se aproximam do destino final, mas antes atravessam o Triângulo das Bermudas - área mítica no Oceano Atlântico famosa por desaparecimentos de barcos e aviões



Os barcos e os tripulantes da Volvo Ocean Race são testados ao extremo. Frio congelante, calor, ondas gigantes e ventos fazem parte do dia-a-dia dos atletas. Os fatores psicológicos também são colocados à prova e um deles é a passagem pelo Triângulo das Bermudas. Nesta segunda-feira (4), as seis equipes que disputam a sexta perna da Volta ao Mundo vão passar pela área do Oceano Atlântico que mais registra sumiços de barcos e aviões. É comum se perder por ali e as explicações, muitas vezes, são sobrenaturais.



O triângulo está situado entre as ilhas Bermudas, Porto Rico, Fort Lauderdale na Flórida e as Bahamas. Há quem explica que a região passa no campo magnético da Terra. Histórias ou lendas, o certo é que os barcos têm menos de 1.000 milhas náuticas para chegar em Newport, nos Estados Unidos. Os ventos não estão atrapalhando e o Dongfeng Race Team mantém a liderança.



'Essa Volvo Ocean Race está incrível! Mais uma etapa excepcional, pois após quase duas semana, a gente vê quatro barcos muito próximos. O fato de ter velocidades muito semelhantes entre as equipes explica essa disputa acirrada. Acredito que a perna será decidida nessa área', disse Charles Caudrelier, comandante do Dongfeng.

No placar da manhã desta segunda-feira, os chineses lideravam e tinham em sua cola Team Brunel, Abu Dhabi, MAPFRE, Team Alvimedica e Team SCA. Os barcos estão previstas para chegar em Newport no dia 7 de maio, após 17 dias de navegação a partir de Itajaí, no Brasil.
