Vic-Maui International Yacht Race - First start to lead off busy day

Today, Thursday July 3, at 10:00 am, the first start of the 2014 Vic-Maui International Yacht Race will lead off a busy day in Victoria.

The Vic-Maui fleet is a buzz of activity as crews of the first start boats prepare to cast off for 2,308 nautical miles of blue water ocean sailing and adventure. Spectator boats are boarding family and friends to observe the start outside Victoria's spectacular harbour.

The weather is picture-perfect - sunny, warm and winds out of the West at 10-20 knots.

This afternoon from 3:00 - 5:30 pm, the Pre-Start Social for the second start will be at the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority's Causeway Docks. Tickets are required. Click here for information and tickets.

The Race Tracker is live - you can follow the fleet from the comfort of home - see Vic Maui.

The second start will be at 10:00 am on Saturday July 5.
