America's Cup: Artemis goes Aero + Video
Mon, 18 Mar 2013
A few weeks ago, Artemis racing announced they were pulling their first AC72 off the training track, for modifications.
The decision to take a time out came after initial race training against Oracle Team USA, when Artemis Racing opted to to join the foiling school of the 34th America's Cup.
As well as converting their first boat to being a foiler, Artemis Racing are adding fairing to the platform (hulls and deck beams) to reduce the aerodynamic drag, and give a further speed increase.
In this video bowman, Andy Fethers, talks about working with the 'drag team' to make aero fairings for the back beam.
