The 2012 New Zealand Laser Championships hosted by Worser Bay Boating Club are set to commence. Racing starts this Saturday 21st January and continues through to the 24th January. Registration and measuring will commence on Friday 20th January from 11am. To ensure that the measurement process runs smoothly for everyone involved, please refer to the following details in relation to measurement and registration: http://www.nzlaser.org/content/getting-your-boat-measured-nz-laser-nationals In addition please note the following details in relation to parking, road trailer storage and also the launching facilities for non-official spectator/coach boats. Note that the club ramp facilities will be restricted to official boats only – However, the public ramp which is more conducive to launching is located a few hundred metres south of the Worser Bay Boating Club on Marine Parade. http://nzlasernationals2012.blogspot.com/p/facilities.html The latest entry list reflects a strong international field and includes competitors from Australia, Cook Islands, Korea, Netherlands, Norway, Peru, Singapore, and Switzerland.  | Venue for 2012 New Zealand Laser National Championships - Edmund Tam | The weather report provides a mixed picture of the expected conditions. However, with the regatta being held in the ‘Cultural Capital of New Zealand’, should the water activities become impacted y the weather then there is certainly no shortage of things to do – to name a few … The City Art Gallery and the Dowse Gallery, The Saturday underground markets, The Summer City Festival, Botanic Gardens, The Wellington Zoo, Weta studios, The Karori Wildlife Sanctuary, Carter Observatory … and enough café’s to enure you can visit one that is not full of laser sailors.
