Doyle Stratis sails completed a clean sweep of the NZ premier one-design classes this weekend with a first overall in the Young 88 2011Nationals.
Flash Gordon with William Tyler, Richard Bouzaid and Mike Sanderson, managed a convincing win with four line wins, sailing in a range of conditions that tested both boat speed and tactics to the limit.
The Young 88 fleet attracts the top names in NZ sailing with the winning skipper and crew considered by many to be one of the best sailing teams in the country.
This win for Doyle NZ follows on from the win in the Farr 1020 class last weekend and clearly demonstrates the advances Doyle NZ has made with the Stratis GPx range over the last two years in design, engineering and durability.
Flash Gordon has a full inventory of Doyle Sails. The new generation #1 Stratis GPx genoa gave the team a clear advantage utilizing the full carbon compression structure that Richard Bouzaid and his design team have developed over the last year. The carbon compression structure provides a smother exit, improved shape control and longer shape holding over time making for a faster sail in both the short and long term.
Newcomer to the class Nathan Williams on 'Slipstream III' finished first on handicap, with a part inventory of Doyle Sails.
