'If only Eagle were as fast as her graphics were distinctive'
The Newport Harbour Yacht Club's Challenger Eagle fluttered rather than soared at the 1987 Louis Vuitton Cup. Designed by Johan Valentijn and skippered by Rod Davis, the Challenger from California exited the 1987 America's cup before the Semi-Finals. TVNZ's Jane Dent goes behind the scenes to talk with her designer and skipper and other crew.
