Results from day 2 of Paralympic Games in Qingdao

'Australia well ahead on Day 2 of the SKUD 18 class in the 2008 Paralympics'    George Layton

Results from day 2 at Paralympic Games in Qingdao - Paul Tingley of Cnada still tops the leader board in the 2.4mR class but John Ruf of the USA has made some gains today with two good races to place second. Heiko Kroger from Germany is in third. The racing was again very tight in this class with lead changes and people moving up and down the fleet.

The Skud 18 class leaders are Nick Scandone and Maureen McKinnon Tucker from the USA sailing very well and have accumulated only 5 points. Second place is Australia with Dan Fitzgibbons and Rachael Cox on 8 points and the Canadians John McRoberts and Stacie Louttit are third with 10 points.

In the Sonar keelboat event, Bruno Jourdren of France is in first place, but there are some protests pending. Colin Harrison of Australia is in second and in third place Jens Kroker of Germany.

Wednesday is a lay day and it his much deserved and need by the racers and I am sure the committee. Qingdao is definitely challenging place to sail so the winners here will certainly be well deserved.
