Sailing Olympics Qingdao - Day 11

Tuesday, day 11 of the sailing at Qingdao, started with Gold for Britain's Paul Goodison in Laser event and Gold for Anna Tunnicliffe of the USA in the Radial.

Goodison secured Britain's third Gold in the sailing events, taking Rasmus Myrgren of Sweden out of medal contention. Silver went to Vasilij Zbogar (SLO) and Bronze to Diego Romero (ITA).

In the Women's Laser Radial final Anna Tunnicliffe took the Gold, Gintare Volungeviciute (LTU) the Silver and Lijia Xu (CHN) the Bronze. Britain's Penny Clark finished tenth overall.

In the events still at the fleet stage, Bryony Shaw of Britain moved into third overall in the RS:X after finishing second behind Jian Yin of China in the final fleet race. Alessandra Sensini of Italy is in second place overall. All the top five contenders are in with a chance of podium places.

In the Men's RS:X event, Aichen Wang of China won the final fleet race. Britain's Nick Dempsey was fifth and goes into the Medal Race in second place, one point behind the leader, Julien Bontemps of France.

In third place, tied on points with Dempsey, is Tom Ashley of New Zealand. The Medal Race for both the RS:X events is on Wednesday morning (UK time).

The Star and Tornado class races were postponed until Wednesday, when they will sail three races.
