Again no wind - Desafío Español 2007

Today the wind has not blown in Valencia and has caused the Louis Vuitton Cup to be postponed again. Including today that is now six days that regattas have not been able to take place.

Juan Pablo Cadario, the second bowman on Desafío Español 2007, made his first appearance in the Cup today with no success: 'We waited for two hours on the regatta course until the wind stabilized at 7-8 knots. We tacked once or twice to test the wind, we calibrated the electronic equipment and we even hoisted the spinnaker and carried out one or two turns of the sail as training.'

'However, at four p.m. it was seen that the wind was tending to drop instead of strengthen and the Regatta Committee postponed the races', concluded the Argentinean. Tomorrow Cadario will again sail as the second bowman in place of Miguel Jáuregui.

Hart Jordan, the Genoa trimmer, added that the Regatta Committee had made the right decision. 'If we had begun the regatta we would have been unable to finish.'

To date the Spanish team has only been able to have two encounters, one against +39 and the other against Areva Challenge. If the wind permits it, tomorrow Desafío Español 2007 will face Mascalzone Latino in the first flight and Emirates Team New Zealand in the second. The meteorologists predict that conditions will be similar to those of today.
