No racing today, Day 6 of the Louis Vuitton challenger series. Again the breeze across both race courses failed to build or settle. Team meteorologists had predicted a day of light winds with a high probability that racing would be impossible. They were right. High cloud caused by an area of low pressure blocked the sun and the keenly anticipated sea breeze did not get above 6 knots. The challengers left the dock in the early afternoon with hopes for at least one flight of races could start. As the afternoon wore on it became increasingly apparent that racing would be unlikely. Race officials abandoned racing for the day at soon after 4pm local time. The forecast for Sunday is little better, with more light winds expected. Tomorrow’s race programme is the same as today. Emirates Team New Zealand face off against +39 Challenge and Areva Challenge.
