Four days into the Louis Vuitton challengers elimination series – and still not a race has been sailed.
There seemed some hope on the south course today, where Emirates Team New Zealand was due to race United Internet Team Germany, when the breeze edged up towards 7 knots from the east.
But it was not to be. The breeze was unstable, subject to wide changes in direction and at 5pm local time, race officials abandoned racing for the day.
The forecast for tomorrow is for more light winds but looking more hopeful and similar conditions are expected over the weekend, although the early indications are that some racing will be possible.
Friday is a reserve day, so Emirates Team New Zealand will sail against Mascalzone Latino, the match abandoned on Monday. NZL 92 has a bye in the second flight.
