Emirates Team NZ have started the pack out of their base in Auckland's Viaduct Harbour.

31 containers holding everything from office furniture and tent structures to hydraulics and engineering workshops will leave the base this week alone.

The two platforms and two wingsails broken down into sections, and chase boats will follow.

The team is expected to begin sailing in San Francisco on May 23, 2013
