This video is a re-edited version of the final practice race from Friday March 8, 2013, together with new video of the two AC72's sailing back to their base on the Waitemata Harbour.
In this new footage Luna Rossa starts well behind Emirates Team NZ's AC72 and appears to be sailing higher and faster than the New Zealand Challenger which dominated the other racing on the day. Not shown is Luna Rossa sailing from a position several hundred metres behind Emirates Team NZ, to the position where she catches the New Zealand challenger.
If nothing else this new video demonstrates how a significant lead can be overturned with the assistance of better pressure and a more favourable shift.
