Around 250,000 sailors and families will be following the 2012 Sydney Hobart race via Sail-World.com Sail-World, the largest sailing news network in the world has been preparing its on-line boat notes for the 2012 Rolex Sydney to Hobart race. It will be again covering the Hobart race in detail, with a large team of yachting journalists and photographers. From the start of our coverage and the wrap up of the 2012 race Sail-World will publish more than 200 stories on the race, which means our coverage will be by far, the most intensive in the world. This year we will be sending out Sail-World Rolex Sydney Hobart newsletters to 120,000 (yes 120,000) readers around the world. Our coverage will be intensive on Sail-World UK, Sail-World USA, Sail-World Canada, Sail-World Europe-Africa, Sail-World Asia, across the ditch with Sail-World New Zealand and on Sail-World Australia. Interestingly our big cruising audiences and our Powerboat-world audiences will follow the race with us too. With rapid advances in technology, Sail-World's coverage will be better than ever with boats delivering news and images by satellite and 3G and 4G phones and tablets, with images and text, on Skype and with HF email. Around half of the fleet have already updated their Sail-World Boat notes, if your skipper and your boat are in that group, we thank you. You might want to look at the notes again and polish them and check the crew names spelling etc. If you are not, we need your help now. To make sure we are able to provide detailed coverage on your boat and crew, we need to start with the facts. The first is, we need you to update or expand the notes and results we have on your boat and crew, NOW!! and a number of times more, as crew details change before Boxing day. (Your skipper or boat contact has been sent access codes to update your boat notes. This information will be used by print, online, radio and TV media as a reference source and by competitors, family and friends, both in hard copy and online. Beyond the basic boat information, we'd like crew lists with first name last name and accurate number of Hobart Race in brackets, eg. Bill Smith (13, Tom Jones (2). We recognise some skippers might still be grappling with real names, rather than nicknames, so now is a good time for crew to check the lists.. Please contact us, on 0418 441359 or media(at)sail-world.com if you need any additional assistance. John Curnow is in the Rolex Sydney Hobart Media centre from now until Boxing Day. His mobile is 0419969959 Sail-World.com FYI Here is what the current full set of fleet boat note look like. http://www.sail-world.com/get_s2hBoats_2012.cfm
