Video from Oracle Team USA of the capsize and recovery of their AC72 USA-17, which capsized in San Francisco Bay, while trying to head home after the wind and tide increased at the end of a training session.
The spectacular capsize in winds in excess of 25 kts and a 5kt current running against the wind created waves several feet high. As Oracle USA-17 accelerated she drove through the waves, nosediving and capsizing.
The wrecked boat was pushed out in to the Pacific Ocean, before being towed back in after the tide change arriving alongside the dock around 0100hrs.
