Byte CII is the Youth Olympic Class for Singapore 2010
|
In the early summer of 2008, ISAF announced the selection of the Byte CII as the singlehanded boat for the boy’s and girl’s sailing events at the first Youth Olympic Games (YOG) to be held in Singapore in August 2010. ISAF has announced the details of the qualifying procedure for Countries seeking to qualify their sailors for the Games. Six Continental regattas will be run between December 1, 2009 and May 31st, 2010. These will be open regattas but only those sailors from that Continent will be eligible to qualify. The number of berths open for each Continent, and other details, can be found on the ISAF website. In addition, the 2010 CII World Championship, which will be run after all the Qualifiers have been run, will be an Open regatta at which any Country that did not qualify in its Continental event can qualify for the additional six boy’s and six girl’s places available. The four YOG events in 2010 are: Boys and girls singlehanded – Byte CII Boys and girls Windsurfer – Bic Techno 293 As more details become available they will be posted here. In the meantime, check out the YOG section of the website for the preliminary qualifications schedule and a list of 2009/2010 international CII events.
