With the Volvo Ocean Race fleet ashore for the moment, Sail-World has some great interviews and with the AC45’s in full cry in Naples – it’s all go.

Laughed and laughed watching the first video in this week’s Sail-World Video selection.

It was the AC45 Team Oracle USA preview as they interviewed the star Team USA skipper James Spithill, then another Team USA skipper Darren Bundock and Team USA tactician Tom Slingsby…. Why oh why can’t we put an Oz team together... surely our resources industry had almost got enough dosh?

One of the fastest growing regattas in Australia cranks into action over the weekend.

With feeder races from Pittwater and Newcastle Sail Port Stephens 2012 will be bigger than ever.

There will be 50 boats in the Commodore Cup fleet through to Wednesday then 30 boat IRC fleet, with a RP63 and four TP52’s will be worth talking about and don’t be surprised if this is the hottest Performance Racing Division 1 fleet in Australian sailing history.

Talked this afternoon to Jim Walsh from the Elliot 7 fleet – the class is very excited about the quality and size of the fleet, looks like 14 boats with some very well known names. More on that tomorrow...

Naturally we will be on the water… because that is what we do. ..

Thats for the positive reaction to our Don't call Races Heats story ... you might not think it matters but try coaching a TV sports presenter trying to script their piece to air from the media boat and you understand that there are enough complications ... by the way don't worry we dont have to call sheets ropes, the mainstream media never gets into that detail.

See you on the water!!!
