The 2012 Olympic sailing regatta starts in Weymouth on Sunday July 29 2012 and Sail-World.com, the largest marine news network in the world, will have its largest Olympic media team ever on the water.

Six very experienced sailing journalist/photographers - Richard Gladwell, Bob Fisher, Mark Chisnell, David Schmidt, Rob Kothe and Spanish and French speaking Jeraldine Kennedy along with some highly regarded photographic contributors, will all bringing their perspectives to the Sail-World coverage.

By mid-2012 the monthly unique audience across its U.S., Canadian, U.K., European, African, Asian, New Zealand and Australian sites will be bumping on 250,000 visitors and across the year there will likely be 2.5 million unique readers, who are spending much more time on the Sail-World sites than audiences on other marine sites.

Sail-World’s Olympic preview newsletters are already running and during the 2012 Olympic coverage Sail-World.com will send out 140,000 newsletters each day, overall a total a record 3.5 million event newsletters.

Sail-World Editor at Large, Richard Gladwell says ‘We will have a very big team on the water at Weymouth by sailing media standards and we will be able to be spread across the courses to catch the action.

'As a worldwide network operating 24x7, our news is well ahead of the curve. Last year Sail-World had an astounding 45% increase in page views and 25% increase in time on site. Further growth is being fuelled by iPhones/iPads and Android equivalents now more than 30% of our audience.'

Publisher Rob Kothe commented 'Internet coverage of sailing events is very significant. Currently Sail-World.com has 45,000 North American online newsletter subscribers across its racing and cruising sites in the USA and Canada, another 45,000 in the Asia Pacific and 20,000 in UK, Europe and Africa. UK and Europe are our fastest growing markets, as the London Olympics approaches.

'With that significant audience we have the ability for industry advertisers to chose regional markets, decide their own advertising schedules and change their own advertising content, running multiple ads in each ad space on daily rotation hyperlinked to different web addresses.

'We have strong support from our existing advertisers and we are being approached by major marine companies wishing to reach our Sail-World.com audiences, either world-wide or regionally.

'Ad places are limited and we ask that potential advertisers contact our media sales representatives who will be happy to quote on a range of these very cost effective Olympic media packages.’
