McConaghy Internationqal say that the MC38 is changing the way people think about accessible and affordable high performance inshore sailing. Now, they say it is time to take this concept to a new level - and light up the offshore fleet. The brief from McConaghy and Dunning to SDK Composites was for the MC38 to meet or exceed ISO Cat 2 requirements, and to engineer the stiffest and lightest structure for the best performance and reliability. Exceeding these requirements - and with a forty five year pedigree of building some of the fastest boats afloat - the MC38 has quickly established a reputation in North America, Asia and Australasia as the standout high -performance boat in the 40 foot range - where performance, reliability, cost and its stunning carbon finish have outpaced and outclassed it's opponents.

'Southport should be a blast in this thing. In our old 'Cone', a Super 30, we had to pray for a downwind race but this new boat goes upwind really well and it's amazingly dry - so it will be smiles with the headsails on and then huge grins as soon as a kite goes up.'
