More competitors in the La Charente Maritime Bahia Transat 6.50 are crossing the finish line and we share with you today, updates on the fight for the final places in Funchal.

Gwénolé Gahinet (455 - Asso Watever - gwenolegahinet.com) had arrived three hours and ten minutes after Benoit Mariette (599 - Odalys Vacances) in Funchal.

If Benoit does not cross the line before 20h45 UTC, Gwénolé will be the Charente-Maritime/Bahia-Transat 6.50 2011 winner for the Serie classe. The fight for the second place is fierce as well with Pierre Brasseur (522 - Voile Océan), sixth in Funchal, that hours and 54 minutes behind Mariette. At the moment, he is ahead of Benoit Mariette by 50 miles in a terrific finish, under strong showers, on the wind and with a very rough sea...

They were born on the same day, on the second of November, they celebrate their birthday today. Nicolas Groux (796 - Couvac) celebrates his 27th birthday and Scott Cavanough (797 - www.bainchild.org) celebrates his 30th birthday on Pen Ar clos II, the boat that rescued him after he was forced to abandon his boat at sea.

Thibault Reinhart (791 – Araldite) has crossed the finish line today, Wednesday the second of November, at 00h30 in the wind, rain and squalls...

Jean-Baptiste Daramy (814 – Eki Haizea) has crossed the finish line of the second leg of the Charente-Maritime / Bahia Transat 6,50, today, Wednesday the 2nd November 2011, at 00h7'4'. He takes the 14th place of this leg.

Sébastien Picault (198 – Kickers) has crossed the finish line, ending the second leg of the Charente-Maritime / Bahia Transat 6.50. 'Pic' on the oldest and more prestigious Mini among the fleet, takes the 13th place of the second leg. Good job!
