New Sailing Manager for Middle Harbour Yacht Club: Andrew Phillips

'Andrew Phillips: New Sailing Manager at MHYC'    Julie Hodder
Middle Harbour Yacht Club (MHYC) has announced that Andrew Phillips has accepted the position of MHYC's Sailing Manager. Andrew was previously in the role of Sailing Administrator at MHYC and brings with him a wealth of knowledge and qualifications including being YA Special Regulations Auditor, State Race Officer (theory), Senior Sailing Instructor as well as Inshore Skipper and Safety Boat Handling Instructor.

Before joining the MHYC Sailing Office in 2009, Andrew concentrated on a career in the yachting, maritime, and watersports industries. He gained a wealth of knowledge and experience travelling extensively overseas, where he lived, worked and sailed.

As Sailing Administrator at MHYC, he has become known to many in the yacht racing industry, but few know that during his career he has worked in exotic roles such as:
• Camp Winaukee (US) as the Waterfront Director and Head of Sailing
• PGL, Club Minosa (France) as Lead Sailing Instructor
• Sunsail Clubs in Greece and Turkey as Watersports Manager
• Northside Sailing School as senior instructor

Andrew says 'I’ve always had an ultimate obsession for the water. My keen interests are dinghy and skiff sailing and now include yacht racing and cruising. My passions extend towards bodyboarding and surfing, as well as interests in power boating and fishing. A true Aussie at heart, I’m passionate about cricket and rugby league.'

Congratulations Andrew!
