Meridien Marinas Airlie Beach Race Week - Bureau of Meteorology weatherman and sailor Kenn Batt has been looking into his crystal ball.

He forecasts steady breezes for the first four days, with more breeze in the passages, but some waiting around on Thursday and Friday.

Friday 12th: SW-S at 8-12kn (average) during the morning tending SE at 12-16kn (average) during the afternoon. Could be 2-4kn stronger offshore?

Saturday 13th: SW-S at 5-8kn (average) at first becoming SE at 12-16kn (average) during the day. Speed could be 2-6kn stronger during the afternoon offshore and in Whitsunday and Mole Passages?

Sunday 14th: SW-S at 5-10kn (average) at first becoming SE at 10-14kn (average) during the day. About 3-8kn stronger in Whitsunday and Molle Passages.

Tuesday 16th: SW-S at 5-10kn (average) at first becoming SE-E 8-12kn (average) during the day.

Wednesday 17th: SW-S at 5-10kn (average) at first becoming E-NE at 8-12kn (average) during the day, probably via a glassout?

Thursday 18th: SW-S at 5-10kn (average) at first becoming E-NE at 8-12kn (average) during the day, probably via a glassout?

Weather: Mostly fine throughout Minimum temperatures around 9-10deg Maximum temperatures 23-24deg.
