'PUMA Ocean Racing, VOR 70, starting the Transatlantic Race 2011 Newport RI, July 3, 2011 - Transatlantic Race 2011'    Billy Black    Click Here to view large photo

Five excellent videos from the Volvo Ocean Race: Go aboard with Puma's Ken Read on the Trans Atlantic Race; Mike Sanderson, skipper of Team Sanya gives us, and a Chinese crew member an induction tour of the boat; Rob Greenhalgh explains a day's game plan aboard Abu Dhabi as they race against time; Lest we forget it is like down below a Volvo 70, Richard Mason gives an onboard tour and more

First up, Ken Read takes a look back at PUMA's IRC overall victory in the 2011 Trans Atlantic Race. From the extremes of possible 24-hour speed run world records to the battle against the currents for the finish, the race has it all. 'does this sport have to be this hard?' he asks

Team Sanya Skipper Mike Sanderson gives Chinese sailor and potential team member Teng Jianghe a guided tour of the 'Sanya Lan'. He is one of a number of Chinese sailors who will be trying out for spots on the race crew. The boat is being given a thorough re-fit prior to a re-launch for the Fastnet Race on August 14th.

Ian Walker's Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing Team are now settled at their training base in Cascais Portugal. Ready access to the Atlantic Ocean and a full range of sailing conditions will help the team in the game of catch up they are playing with the fleet. Watch Leader Rob Greenhalgh explains the plan for just one day.

Richard Mason gives an insight into daily his daily routine! As we look forward to the next Race starting in less than 100 days a quick look back at a clip from 2008-09 giving us a glimpse of just how tough life is aboard a Volvo Open 70.

As Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing's state-of-the-art Azzam soars through the Atlantic waves off Portugal, take a look at her stunning journey and the team's plans for the next 100 days before the Volvo Ocean Race start in Spain.
