Mooloolaba Queensland is set for a welcome return as the premier offshore Hobie racing venue for the Hobie Cat Australasia / Hogs Breath Cafe sponsored Hobie Cat National championships to be held from 2nd to 6th January 2012.
Mooloolaba Marina and the Sunshine Coast Yacht Club will host the event, predicted to attract close to 100 Hobie Cats and competitors from all over Australia and internationally.
Mooloolaba has hosted some of the finest and well attended regattas held in the Hobie Class in the past. After a number of years of no regatta activity, and now with the keen support of the Sunshine Coast Yacht Club and the Mooloolaba Marina company, the Queensland Hobie Association predicts that Mooloolaba, as a catamaran sailing venue, is back as one of a very few genuine offshore racing venues remaining on the east coast perfectly suited to Hobie racing.

Hobie Cat Australasia and Hogs Breath Cafe return as sponsors, continuing their long association with Hobie racing in Australia. Competitors and their families are expected to flock to the popular tourist destination for the regatta and attendance records are set to be broken.
The regatta venue has been located and timed for youth competitors wanting to compete at the ISAF selection regatta at Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron immediately following the conclusion of the Hobie class event at Mooloolaba.
