RS Tera Southern Area Championships 2011 are being hosted by Hayling Island Sailing Club over the weekend of 24th and 25th September. Australian clothing brand Zhik are officially announced as a sponsor of the event. Zhik clothing is already hugely popular in many dinghy and Olympic classes and more recently sportboat and keelboat sailors too have discovered the benefits of Zhik’s innovative technologies. Having already committed to sponsoring the National Championships in July, this additional partnering with the RS Tera class enables Zhik to continue to work with the fastest growing junior class worldwide, with an entry expected to be in excess of 70 for the Southern Area Championships. Ian Jameson, Class Chairman, 'We are absolutely delighted that Zhik have signed up as primary sponsor for the Southern Area Championships 2011, it is shaping up to be tremendous year for the RS Tera Class, and we are sure it will be a fantastic event. Zhik are a natural partner for the RS Tera class, and we look forward to working with them for these championships, and other events moving forward.' 'Sponsorship allows the class to maintain its core value, which is affordable and fun, with most of the class funding going towards the four UK regions to subsidise additional training and coaching activity from grass roots level up' The RS Tera class has seen accelerated growth in popularity over the last four years and is proving to be a winner with young people around the world, the class has an emphasis on fun combined with competitive sailing at an affordable cost, so it really is ability and attitude rather than money that is delivering results. This will be the first Southern Area Championships for the class. RS Tera Class Association website
