RYA Sailability Multi-Class Regatta 2011 will take place at Rutland Sailing Club on the 12-14 August 2011.
Entry forms are now available for this year’s event. The regatta is open to those who race in following classes: Neo 395, Laser Stratos, SKUD, Access, 2.4mR, Challenger, Artemis, Sonar, SQIB and Kinsman.
The weekend kicks off with a day of race training led by RYA Coaches which will include practice starts, practice races, mark rounding, on the water coaching and a BBQ in the evening.
Competitors then enjoy two full days of racing, competing for the Multi-Class Regatta trophies followed by an evening Regatta dinner on Saturday, and racing for the Ken Ellis Trophy on Sunday. The weekend will round off with the prize giving presentations for the weekend’s best performers.
Debbie Blachford, RYA Sailability Manager says, 'Since the beginning the multi class regatta has been hugely successful. Last year was the first time we had so many people in different boats with 80 disabled and able-bodied sailors taking part. We hope to see even more this year!
'As well as celebrating the achievements of those who take the top prizes the weekend is also a fantastic opportunity for inexperienced racers to hone their competitive talents and to compete alongside, and learn from, more experienced crews.'
Entry forms and Notice of Race details are available online
. Race entry is £10 per person and includes training on Friday, racing fee and Saturday evening dinner for competitors.
