Audi MedCup Circuit: Marseille Trophy 2011 has Audi Azzurra Sailing Team are out on the water today practicing along with the other teams competing in the circuit, in preparation for the Trophy scheduled to take place from 14th to 19th June.
Alberto Roemmers and Yacht Clum Smeralda's boat will take part in the Practice Race for the TP52 class tomorrow. 'We feel positive and motivated,' declared Vasco Vascotto, strategist aboard Azzurra, 'we took third place in Cascais which was a great result given that the level of competition in the Audi MedCup is really top class. We are confident about the leg in Marseille but we are well aware that the others won't be sitting back and watching.'
Audi Azzurra Sailing Team aims above all to consolidate its current position - in third place just one point behind the second placed team - and to move up the classification. Several technical changes have been made to the boat in order to achieve this. During tomorrow's Practice Race Didier Réault, Marseille City Councillor responsible for the Sea, Watersports and Calanques National Park and General Councillor for the Bouches-du-Rhône region, will be aboard Azzurra.
