by Jo Uffendell
Having slowed overnight Caffari and Corbella onboard Gaes Centros Auditivos are now only 12 hours away from claiming their respective round the world records.
The Gaes girls are expected to cross the Barcelona World Race finish line between 07:00 and 08:00 (BST) on Wednesday 13 April 2011.
For British sailor, Caffari, this has been her third race around the globe and, upon successful completion, she will become the only woman to have sailed around the planet three times non-stop - more times than any other woman in history. Catalan sailor, Corbella, will also set her own record as the first Spanish woman to circumnavigate the globe non-stop.
The Gaes girls are approaching the finish line at 6.8 knots and will complete the Barcelona World Race in sixth position. Of the original fleet of fourteen, four retired and seven made technical stops making the all female duo one of the few teams to have completed this race around the globe non-stop.
