Trofeo Princesa Sofia Trophy day four of racing was successful for US Sailing Team AlphaGraphics as sailors climbed up the scoreboard in Women’s 470 and Star, and scored wins in Women’s Match Racing. Friday will see the completion of the quarter-finals and the semi-finals in the Women’s Match Racing while the final races for the other classes will be held to determine the top 10 berths in Saturday's medal races. Performance highlights on day four include: Erin Maxwell (Wilton, Conn.) and Isabelle Kinsolving Farrar (New York, N.Y.) turned in 20-5 results and moved into seventh overall in the 49-boat Women’s 470 fleet. 2008 Olympian Andrew Campbell (San Diego, Calif.) and crew Ian Coleman (Annapolis, Md.)surged into second place overall in the 39-boat Star fleet by winning the first of today’s three races, then adding a third and ninth to the score line. In Elliott 6m,Women’s Match Racing, the fleet is now down to the top eight teams, with Team Tunnicliffe – Anna Tunnicliffe (Plantation, Fla.), Molly Vandemoer(Stanford, Calif.) and Debbie Capozzi (Bayport, N.Y.) – advancing to the quarter-finals after going undefeated in the gold round robin. They are up two wins over Stephanie Hazard (NZL) in the 'first-to-three-wins' stage. Team Barkow – Sally Barkow (Nashotah, Wis.), Alana O’Reilly(Charleston, S.C.) and Elizabeth Kratzig Burnham (Miami, Fla.) – are tied on points with Lucy MacGregor (GBR) in the quarter-final round. In the Finn gold fleet, another two races were completed with Zach Railey (Clearwater, Fla.)maintaining his fifth overall, with a 25th in race seven that is a drop-out result. USSTAG newcomer Erika Reineke turned in her best gold fleet finish day of career with 10-13 results in the 78-boat Laser Radial fleet, while Paige Railey (Clearwater,Fla.) now sits in third overall. Paige Railey (Clearwater, Fla.) on winning race seven and her disappointing 28th-place finish in race eight. 'I think I used up all my luck in the first race and sailed a bad one. It was the first race of the regatta where I didn’t sail a good one. I’ll wipe it clean and start again tomorrow.' Women’s Match Racing skipper Anna Tunnicliffe(Plantation, Fla.) comments on the results that she, Molly Vandemoer and Debbie Capozzi have earned: 'We are very excited with how we are sailing. We have been working hard on the game and are trying to incorporate everything we have learned. The race committee is doing a great job with the races and the competition is great. Everyone is getting better and better every time we see each other, which makes the racing tight and fun.'
