Sydney City Marine congratulates Team Transfusion – crowned World Champions at the Rolex Farr 40 World Championship that concluded in Sydney over the weekend. Team Transfusion is a permanent fixture at Sydney City Marine, with both Farr 40’s owned by the syndicate based there, along with the team chase boat. Boat Manager Mitch White has worked closely with SCM Racing Yachts Customer Service Manager Rob McGrath over the last 18 months to ensure that anything and everything required to assist the team’s preparation was made available. 'Team Transfusion has everything they need at their fingertips at SCM – from dry storage in dedicated secure containers, through to ready access to any trade required to do any work on the boats at any time ' said Rob. And they were not the only Farr 40 taking advantage of the excellent facilities offered by Sydney City Marine, with all but one of the international fleet using SCM as their base from as early as November 2010. McGrath said with the space and flexibility that SCM is able to offer, there was a section of the facility’s footprint that resembled a very organised shipping container city. 'The set up was really convenient for all the boat managers, skippers and crew – to know exactly where everything is, and to have it stored within walking distance to the boat, was very handy' he said. Sydney City Marine also played an integral operational role in the lead up to the Farr 40 Worlds, with the official weigh and measure taking place there under the watchful eye of the international team of officials – one of whom was Tink Chambers, who was full of praise for the facility.
 | Farr 40 measurers at work at SCM - Andrea Francolini | 'I want to thank you ( Rob McGrath) and everyone at Sydney City Marine for the great way the Farr 40 weighing and measurement was handled' 'In particular your cheerful, helpful attitude and willingness to adapt to a changing situation, made what can be a stressful situation, turn into a very well run and managed operation' he said. 'The facility is fantastic, and everyone there is pleasant and helpful, and your valuable and capable skills made everything very easy' said Mr Chambers. Sydney City Marine is located under the Anzac Bridge, on James Craig Road in Rozelle, and offer a full range of services on site for boats of all sizes, and all budgets – big or small.
