On March 26 and 27 at Northland’s Marsden Cove, an action packed event which combines for the first time, a boat show plus power and sailing regatta, will bring a totally new dimension to marine promotion, entertainment and competition.

This spectacular weekend event will include the Northland Boat Show with its own unique trademark of readily available boat trials.

Yacht racing begins on Friday March 25 with a feeder yacht race from Gulf Harbour to Marsden Cove. The race is scheduled to start at 10:00am off Gulf Harbour. While there will be a comprehensive weekend regatta race program, Saturday afternoon will be the high point with a number of large racing and cruising yachts competing in a series of races on the Bream Bay ~ Hen and Chickens area while the inner Whangarei harbour will resonate to the thunderous sounds of New Zealand’s fastest offshore power boats competing in one of the NZOPA series races.

Expect lots of action and novelty stunts as is typical of events organized by Marsden Cove’s developer, Hopper Developments Ltd.

Saturday evening will be a highly entertaining affair with a prize giving followed by live entertainment staged in the main marquee.

Entry to this event, which includes a meal voucher, will be $35.

A range of beverages will be available for purchase from a licensed bar.

This may be the most entertaining public marine event this summer. Whether you are a marine industry company seeking an ideal opportunity to promote your product or someone who enjoys everything that floats or goes fast, this will be an event not to miss.

Display requirement registration forms are available on www.marsdencove.co.nz

Feeder race registration forms are available from Gulf Harbour Yacht Club. Email admin@ghyc.co.nz Ph 09 424 2118

Clash at the Cove regatta race enquiries and registration form requests should be emailed to paul@hoppers.co.nz
