by The Sail-World UK Team
Confusion hangs over the UK sailing world this week as it was announced that Mike Sanderson of New Zealand, has departed Team Origin. It came as a shock to most when the announcement was made. Sanderson is one of the world’s most accomplished sailors and it seems a very odd time for Sir Keith Mills to be making this decision; the team are about to compete in the Louis Vuitton Trophy at La Maddelena in Italy. Let’s hope the dismissal of Sanderson doesn’t hamper their chances!
It's a full British line-up for the Ecover Sailing Team in the Extreme Sailing Series this year. Mike Golding, Leigh McMillan, Will Howden and Jonathan Taylor make up the team set to compete in Sete, France in only seven days.
Check out Sail-World for these and plenty of other stories from the UK and beyond.
Saturday brings with it an east, north-easterly force 3 breezes. Sunday might get to force 4 with light easterly breezes, changing as the day goes on to southerlies but not changing speed. Temperatures are set to be the highest so far this year, a lovely 22-23 degrees.
Have a grand weekend!
