PredictWind shows building breeze for Day 6 of Airlie Beach Race Week

'Day Six Forecast at 1000hrs - Airlie Beach Race Week'    PredictWind.com

With the final day of racing expected to kick off at 0940hrs on the Pioneer Bay course the winds should stick around for another great day of racing. Today’s forecast shows SE Trade Winds building from 7 Knts up to around 16Knts at its peak.

The PredictWind Wind Speed Graph below shows the wind speed at 10m above sea level. The vertical axis represents the wind speed in knots, while the horizontal axis displays the time and date intervals. Here we can see the inshore winds at Airlie Beach (blue lines) increasing from 7Knts at 0900hrs to 9Knts at 1100hrs.

The Winds further out to sea in Pioneer bay are shown via the brown and orange lines. Here the winds are expected to sit between 13 – 16Knts between 1100hrs and 1500hrs.

As you can see in the Wind Maps at 1000hrs and 1500hrs the wind is expected to come from the SE for the majority of the day. However one of the models is predicting the wind between 1300hrs and 1500hrs to swing more to the East in the middle of Pioneer Bay.
