The first ever SC37 was unveiled at the Newport International Boat Show, USA winning the prestigious 'Best New Sailboat' award.
Judged by leading industry experts, the SC37 was tested under a strict criterion of innovation, value and aesthetic appeal against boats launched in the US market since April 2008.
Darren Williams, Vice President of Santa Cruz Yachts was elated on news of this award. 'We strived to ensure this model is the perfect crossover between racing and cruising. I’m pleased that the judges recognised this in their summation when presenting the award to us. A carbon superstructure is normally reserved for custom builds and we simply wanted to introduce a model that was safe and strong while delivering a pleasurable ride with increased boat speed.'
Unrivalled in its class, this striking new design by Tim Kernan is an integral carbon fibre build that is fast and effortless to sail. Possessing all the requisites of an offshore thoroughbred with its twin helm position, non-overlapping sail configuration, efficient deck layout, carbon mast, bow sprit and spinnaker pole, it offers a pure sailing experience for all to enjoy.
Special attention has been incorporated into the design to ensure performance is not just for racing, the lifting keel and rudder system allows access in shallow waters and the interior is a warm, reflective space that provides comfort without excess weight.
