Competitors were greeted with ideal conditions on Day 2 of the J24 World Championship being sailed in the Gulf of Arzachena. With 18 knots blowing, the fleet of seventy six J24s, representing 17 countries, headed for the start line. Mark Hillman (USA2274) won Race 3 from Milev Rossi (GBR 4247), with Italian Filippo Masai (ITA 497) third. The second race of the day, Race 4, the conditions remained stable, with just a few wind gusts, ensuring close racing. Mark Hillman once again finished ahead of Milev Rossi. Italian sailor Aurelio Bini (ITA 405) finsihed in third, ahead of Ian Southwort (GBR 4177.) Hillman's two bullets enabled him to move up the leaderboard into third place overall, after two ordinary races on the first day (9, 20). After four race, Milev Rossi steering GBR 4247 leads the regatta on 24 points, coming back into contention with two seconds today after an ordinary result in the first race (15) and fifth in the second, to be just one point ahead of Brazilian sailor Mauricio Santa Cruz (BRA 37), with Mark Hillman (USA 2274) in third on 31 points.
