Royal visitor for Youth National Championships

Another late start for the competitors at the RYA Youth National Championships Trials at the Pwllheli Sailing Club. The event had a Royal visiter today, HRH Princess Anne dropped in to see the sailing.

Just after 14:00 hours racing got underway with the 29er class. James Peters and Ed Fitzgerald continue to lead ahead of Frances Peters and Claire Lasko. Bleddyn Mon and Tom Humphreys are third overall.


New leader in the Laser event, Oliver Tweddell takes over the lead from Stuart Godwin. Iain McKeeman is in third, just one point off the leading pair.

The Radial fleet has split into gold and silver. Oscar McVeigh leads the gold fleet, second is John Currie and third is James Grant. Sophie McKeeman continues to lead the girls, in sixth place overall.

Ben Saxton and David de Boltez have a four point lead in the 420 event. Second are Owain Matthews and Tin Saxton, with Phil Sparkes and Ben Gratton third overall.

In the RSX boards, Jacob Brubert leads, second is Ali Masters and third Izzy Hamilton. In the SL16 catamaran Adam Butler and Gilbert Sutcliffe lead.
