The Italian pair, Giulia Conti and Giovanna Micol have a one point lead in the Women's 470 World Championship in Melbourne at the end of day 1. They won the first race and then took a third place in their second race. The Australian pair, Elise Rechichi and Tessa Parkinson had a win and a fourth to hold second overall with the three time champions, Marcelien de Koning and Lobke Berkhout of the Netherlands in third.
