Race 6 was sailed in mostly 20 knots of breeze, in contrast to the previous days racing when the wind was from 7 to 10 knots. After the racing today the wind has come up during the night, but is expected to ease for the racing

Earlier, before the start of the 2008 Nationals, an invitation race was held for the Uffa Fox Trophy. It was won by Grant Alderson and Dean McAullay in No Bull - Rupert Leslie and Andy Fethers were second and Greg Tonnison with Steve Roberts third.

The wind was blowing 25 knots with gusts up tp 33. Some terrific planing lots of thrills and some spills. Only about half of the 40 entries took to the water for this series opener.
