Australian Hayden Virtue takes lead at IC Worlds

Hayden Virtue of Australia has taken the lead at the International Canoe World Championships being held at the McCrae Yacht Club, Australia. Following the abandoned second day of racing due to high winds, Virtue won two races and finished third in the final race of the day to move into the overall lead.

Bill Beaver of the USA, the early series leader, dropped to second overall, with Colin Brown (GBR) making great strides, winning the final race and moving into third overall.

In the Development Class event, Chris Mass of the USA, kept a clean sheet after the discard, to lead by four points from Steve Clark (USA). Oliver Moore (USA) is in third place and then the leading British competitor, Alister Warren is in fourth overall.

The small - three entries - Asymmetric class is led by John Robson (GBR) with Tobias Kunz (GER) in second.
