Ex-ISAF President - Sailing on the Internet

'SKANDIA WILD THING - 2007 Docklands Invitational'    Andrea Francolini Photography ©
Former ISAF President Paul Henderson defends Sailing's popularity amongst the Olympic sports by pointing out that Sailing is widely followed on the Internet, more so than many other sports.

The seventy thousand or more sailors who will check into Sail-World over the next month, many of them 20-30 times are examples of that ever growing relationship.

Lots of sailing news over the weekend.

We have lots today with four races from the Skandia Docklands Invitational, the fleet is assembling for the SAP 505 Worlds in Adelaide, the F18's are coming soon. Sail-World will be providing detailed coverage from both those events.

Sail Melbourne finished on Saturday, interesting that the Olympic and Invited classes seem to compact into into one report with all the coverage switching to the skiffs.

Miami OCR starts tonight with a big Australian presence, then its Skandia Geelong Week.

Here is a Francolini image from the weekend - you could look at the images from the weekends sailing now, our you could look at them in a boating magazine in a couple of months.

Somehow, I don't think that is going to work for live mark roundings, boat tracking. live commentary, streaming to site and video...which is where we are going now.
