Sail-World.com : Sail-World Australia Cruising News Magazine

Sail-World Australia Cruising News Magazine

This is to welcome you to Sail-World’s first Australia Cruising On-line Magazine, coming to you weekly. In it you’ll now find more Australian content to keep you connected with the Australian Cruising scene, while including all the best world cruising news.

Sir Francis Chichester’s yacht Gypsy Moth IV, refurbished and part way through another circumnavigation, has hit a reef in Tahiti. At time of sending this newsletter it seems the yacht is salvageable, with a salvage team from Tahiti now on site. We have the latest news. It seems however that no matter what happens the Gypsy Moth schedule in Australia is going to be somewhat dislocated.

Middle Harbour Yacht Club assists with some vital information on how to raft up safely and there’s a report on the latest gizmos from Skype, that scourge of the Telco's.

The World Cruising Club has announced its circumnavigation rally which will sail into Cairns in late winter of 2008.

Last week the Gaffers’ Day on Sydney Harbour from Sydney Amateur Sailing Club was a photographer’s delight, and talking of photography, read about the new Award won by Richard Bennett, and the wonderful photography in the Treleavens’ new Book!

Much more – of the new Kontiki Expedition, of Whales and the greatest sailboard rider of them all.

We are very keen to assist the Cruising Division of Australian Clubs in publicising their events and activities and wherever possible publish their stories and news. These days on-line content is much more valuable than print content, which disappears each month.

Ask your Club newsletter editors and authors to contact Sail-World to both provide and receive content.

Have a great week and

Sail safe
