'Sail Port Stephens 2013'    Sail Port Stephens Media

Easter Sailing is coming up fast, that means the Brisbane to Gladstone 2014 and we will once again raise a glass to Stripey and Marie Grant, we cannot think about this race without seeing Stripey dockside in Gladstone, with his short-brimmed canvas white hat, talking to the skipper and crews. Missing you mate.

Easter this year will be the Pantaenius sponsored Sail Port Stephens, its flipside this year with the IRC fleets racing first, who will then be off to the IRC Nationals at Newcastle while the Cruising fleet enjoys the Commodores Cup.

News today from a fast Gosford to Lord Howe and Sydney Mooloolaba, a lot of offshore events.

The Sail-World Team will be on the French Riviera, Hyeres at the final ISAF Sailing World Cup event of the season. The whole Australian Sailing Team will be on the water in Hyeres include Nathan Outteridge and Iain Jensen in the 49ers. The Kiwis Burling and Tuke and the Danes Warrer and Lang are keen to show our London 2012 49er Gold Medallists they have lots of work to do before the next World Championships. It’ll be great to watch.

Another good regatta from Tom Burton in Hyeres, who won in Palma, and he will be back on top on the Laser Rankings. (He is number two and closing fast) With a strong squad and a great coach, our Aussie Laser sailors continue to impress.

Mat Belcher and Will Ryan, the world number one ranked 470 Men’s pairing, are keen to rub out the last two regattas, with a disappointing (for them ) second and third.

And Australia's Oli Tweddell, the world number one Finn sailor, is having physio every day to try and resolve his arm injury, so he can fight off the closing pack in Hyeres.

Lots more stories, way too many to mention and we will enjoy keeping you updated.
