The 49er World Championships in Marseille, France came to close one week ago. The most successful 49er and 49erFX event has gathered more than 140 boats, offering some great moments. Light conditions was the main characteristic of the event except for the penultimate day of racing where the wind picked up offering a great spectacle.
Kiwi domination at the end with the London Olympics silver medalists Burling and Tuke dominating in men's fleet while Maloney and Meech were the first 49erFX sailors to be crowned world champions.
