Fishing has certainly come of age in recent years and with technology increasing every day I am still to wonder just where we will be in another twenty years. Fishing maybe all about the rods, reels and tackle we use to catch a meal but in today’s modern era, more and more anglers are happy to pursue such majestic species right around the world only to take home a photo or video of their prize.
Back in the day it was all about 35mm slide photos but nowadays it is hi-tech digital SLR’s and 1080HD video quality movies that store the memories of millions of angler’s world wide.
For anglers like myself, Gary Brown, Lee Brake and Carl Hyland that contribute to Fishingboating-World.com, this new era of technology has provided us with the necessary tools to deliver articles from our fishing adventures so that you can enjoy watching and reading about fishing from the southern shores of Tasmania right through to the northern Queensland coast.
Recently, the biggest news for anglers and sports persons alike has been the introduction of the Go Pro range of cameras. These little beauties shoot in 1080HD, take 11mp quality images and can keep a plethora of memories on one simple memory card. It is technology like this that keeps us thirsty for more adventures just to catch that split second of footage or an image of our greatest captures to make you want to get there and catch your very own prized species.

This week, the team at Fishingboating-World.com has come together with an array of feature articles to share with you a range of fishing tips and techniques from around the country. Lee Brake heads up the Queensland sector heading offshore in a finesse approach to flicking soft plastics to hard fighting reef species such as fingermark, mangrove jack and javelin fish (grunter).
Gary Brown brings back an old era approach to bait and lure fishing techniques were past experience yields a great catch. Gary visits some local haunts and explains that there are plenty of fish to be caught around pontoons, in marinas and around wharves using these techniques.

Jarrod Day visits Darwin to explore the many styles of fishing that can be undertaken while on a short holiday. Jarrod teams up with his mate Alan Beale and heads to a few locations in search of Barramundi, Queenfish, Mackerel and trevally. Over the years Jarrod has been exploring Darwin with Alan Beale, Owner/Operator of Darwin’s Barra Base, and found the fishing to be downright sensational.
Down south, Carl Hyland ventures to a nearby fresh water impoundment in Northern Tasmania that ticks all the angling boxes. Whilst Curries River Dam has been around for many years Carl informs that the fishing is still going off!
So with this week’s jam-packed newsletter, I hope we have inspired you to arm yourself with a camera, rod and reel and hit the water in search of something fishy.
