Hot action and Pittwater Coffs steps up a gear
|
Today we have 18 footers, Flying Fifteens, lots of AC news and the Vendee Globe is fast approaching, but we want to talk about a key local event. The 2013 Pittwater Coffs Harbour Race steps up a gear As we move into the summer offshore season, its not too far ahead to the 226nm Club Marine Pittwater to Coffs Harbour yacht race which starts at 1pm on 2 January. This will be followed by four races in Coffs Harbour over two consecutive days, on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 January around the majestic Solitary Islands. There are IRC, PHS, ORCi and shorthanded divisions with all entries given the opportunity to race in all three and in the Australian PHS Championships, an integral part of the regatta. Sailors are very much aware that the Royal Prince Alfred’s Coffs Harbour Race has had a low profile over the last few years and fleet numbers have suffered as a result. This year there has been a noticeable increase in pre-event activity and this year there is a Prize Draw promotion to help the event organisers build an even better regatta. There’s no better incentive to get your entry in for the Club Marine Pittwater and Coffs Harbour Regatta with host club The Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club offering a two week promotion to enter the draw to win free regatta entry for 2013. For those thinking about entering, submit your entry via the online entry system by 5pm AEST Friday 16 November for your chance to win. One lucky name will be drawn from the barrel on Saturday 17 November and the first entry drawn will have their entry fee for next January’s race and regatta waived. The winner will be notified by phone. All those entered to date will automatically enter the draw. (Full details in the story below)
