Welcome to Sail-World.com's New Zealand newsletter for September 6, 2012

For those who missed our America's Cup newsletter we have featured the images of Emirates Team NZ's AC72 foiling on the Waitemata just over a week ago.

The images are remarkable for two things - New Zealand is the first of the AC72's to be fully foil-borne, and second we believe that the AC72 is the largest yacht to be fully foiling.

In this edition we have further images from today's sailing session to which some media were invited. We are endeavouring to acquire further images of the foiling, and hope to have these available Friday on www.sail-world.com. In the meantime we have images taken from various locations around the Harbour.

The 2012 Paralympics are at the near complete stage. The two New Zealand crews are flicking around the top ten overall with one race to sail.

Overall the British are endeavouring to emerge as the top nation, in terms of medal won, as they did in the 2012 Olympic Regatta. So far they are leading one event, are second in another and have a bit of work to do in the other fleet. For Australia it is a similar story.

In his latest column he reviews the New Zealand Olympic effort in Weymouth and has some pointers for the USA - which is in the same position as the ANZAC's were in after the 2004 Olympic Regatta in Athens.

Our apologies for the delay in this newsletter which is caused by a difficult and ongoing IT issues in New Zealand.
