Paralympics London 2012 - Paul Tingley on form in Weymouth

Day four of the London 2012 Paralympic Sailing Competition on Weymouth was another light day (go figure!), but the wind did come in and after some heroics by the race committees, the 2.4m and Skud got two races in while the Sonar got one. The wind came in around 12:30 but was light and variable from the west then it did clear some and it went South West but only for a while, so the sailors really had to keep their heads out of the boat. Max velocity was about 7kt with a lot of the racing in 5-6kts.

Star of the day was Paul Tingley with two second place finishes and moving up to fourth place, he also re-won the protest that the French wanted to open with new evidence which was not new!

John McRoberts had much better pace today and at one point was in the lead but made a mistake on the last windward and dropped to third, in the next race he had a devastating first leg and rounded in sixth place but his good speed got him back to third at the finish and just missed out on second, good to see him back on pace. John and Stacie are still in fourth overall

Bruce Millar, Logan Campbell and Scott Lutes had a tough day reading the wind, he rounded the first mark in sixth later dropped to 12th then rebounded to ninth, all in one race! They sit in eighth place overall.

Tomorrow they are calling for more variable winds  but clearer skies which could eventually bring in some seabreeze, our weather guru, Eric Holden states that it will be another day of uncertainty.
